TrueQR Privacy Policy

Effective 29 July 2026

The short version

TrueQR does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. Your scans never leave your phone.

What TrueQR stores, and where

Everything TrueQR knows — your scan history, notes, favorites, and settings — is stored in a local database on your device only. There is no TrueQR server, no account, and no cloud copy. Deleting the app deletes this data permanently.

What never happens

The two narrow exceptions

Expand redirects. If you explicitly tap "Expand redirects" on a scanned link, TrueQR contacts that link's server directly from your phone to reveal its final destination. This is the only time the app touches the network for a scan, it happens only on your tap, and nothing about it is sent to us.

Purchases. If you buy the optional Pro unlock, the payment is processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. Purchase validation uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous purchase receipt — never your scans, name, or contact details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Children

TrueQR collects no data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads or external content beyond the links you yourself scan.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since the app's design makes data collection impossible, meaningful changes are unlikely.
